Kym Whittle
EAL Lead
Kym Whittle is a teacher of English and lead for English as an Additional Language, with more than a decade of experience in inner-city London schools and international contexts including Ras Al Khaimah and Abu Dhabi. She advocates for inclusive, high-quality education and specializes in supporting neurodivergent learners and students with additional learning needs, including learners of English as an additional language. Drawing on lived experience as well as research, she challenges misconceptions, particularly about neurodivergence in girls and about EAL learners, and equips educators with practical, adaptive strategies for real classrooms. She has delivered professional development sessions inside and outside her schools and contributed to panel discussions on equity, diversity and inclusion, and she works with schools, leaders and organizations to empower staff, support families and improve outcomes for all learners.
