A Saudi engineer serving as Acting Director of Environmental Sustainability at the Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center, responsible for embedding environmental considerations into the planning, design, construction and operation of infrastructure projects, cutting carbon emissions and resource consumption through sustainable materials and efficient delivery practices, and building climate-resilient infrastructure that protects natural ecosystems as the capital keeps growing. Environmental sustainability is one of six tracks in the centre’s Infrastructure Award, whose second edition runs in 2026 alongside tracks for innovation and scientific research.
