Jasmin Fichte is founder and Managing Partner of Fichte & Co, a Dubai-based law firm she established in 2005 that has grown to seven partners and more than forty staff. A dual-qualified English and German solicitor specialising in marine insurance law since 1997, she studied law in Hamburg and maritime law in Southampton before working in international law firms in Hamburg and London, then moved to Dubai in 2002 to work as legal counsel for a leading marine insurance broker. She has represented shipowners, trading houses and ports on marine insurance claims ranging from salvage and collisions to cargo claims, and chairs the Dubai Maritime Advisory Council. In 2020 she became the first female lawyer in the UAE to be granted a ten-year Golden Visa, and she founded the UAE's Women in Shipping and Trade Association in 2010.
