Ihab Shawish
Assistant Professor of Chemistry
Ihab Shawish is an assistant professor of chemistry at Prince Sultan University. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Yarmouk University in Jordan in 1999, a master’s degree in organic chemistry from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2003, and a PhD in organic chemistry from King Saud University in 2022. He has more than 20 years of university teaching experience, beginning at King Khalid University in 2004, where he served for eight years before joining Prince Sultan University in 2012 as a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics and Sciences. He received the university’s College-Level Excellence in Teaching Award in 2017. He has authored more than 22 peer-reviewed publications in international journals, holds one US-registered patent and has contributed to one book chapter. His research focuses on the design and synthesis of novel organic compounds with potential anticancer activity and on heterocyclic corrosion inhibitors based on s-triazine, pyrazole and triazole scaffolds.
