Hosam Arab

Co-Founder & CEO

Hosam Arab is the co-founder and chief executive of Tabby, which he launched in Dubai in 2019 with Daniil Barkalov to provide buy-now-pay-later services and consumer finance. The company has passed twenty-five million registered users across Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, partners with more than sixty-five thousand brands and small businesses, processes over eighteen billion dollars in annualised transaction volume and was valued at four and a half billion dollars. He trained as an electrical engineer at Queen's University and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, and worked at Schlumberger and GE before turning to entrepreneurship. In 2011 he co-founded the online fashion retailer Namshi and led it as chief executive until Emaar Malls fully acquired it in 2019, the year he stepped down and founded Tabby, moving from e-commerce into fintech.
