Hisham Al-Falih

Hisham Al-Falih is the co-founder and chief executive of Lean Technologies, which he founded in September 2019 with Aditya Sarkar and Ashu Gupta. Based in Riyadh, the company builds open banking APIs that let businesses across the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan access account data and initiate account-to-account payments. He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University, where he was a Mayfield Fellow in the Stanford Technology Ventures Program, and attended Dhahran Ahliyya Schools. He worked as a business analyst at McKinsey & Company and then as an investor at The Capital Partnership and Fathom Capital between 2017 and 2019, focusing his investments on fintech companies in the Middle East, Silicon Valley and Europe, experience that preceded the founding of Lean. He is a frequent voice in public discussion of open banking and financial infrastructure in the Kingdom.
