Heba Abdo

Assistant Academic Director

Heba Abdo is a K–12 educational leader with more than 20 years of experience in curriculum innovation, teacher and leader development and system-level school improvement in the United States and internationally. An advocate for teacher agency, she uses professional learning communities, reflective coaching and sustained development systems to empower educators. She has authored standards-aligned curricula, designed equity-driven professional learning systems and guided fiscal and instructional strategy that improved outcomes for tens of thousands of students. Her achievements include a mathematics strategic plan for a large Florida school district, a nationwide professional learning program for novice US teachers, and expanded access to AP and Honors courses in New Jersey through differentiated pathways. She has lectured in curriculum design and teacher education at Rutgers University. Her doctoral research on teacher evaluation as a formative tool for professional growth received several awards, including a Distinguished Paper Award from the American Educational Research Association, and she has been an invited speaker at ASCD.
