Hani Kablawi

Executive Vice Chair, Head of Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific

Hani Kablawi is executive vice chair at BNY, leading the bank's strategy, business, client relationships and teams across the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. He joined the bank in 1997 and has since held a number of leadership roles in New York, London and the United Arab Emirates, including head of investment services for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Before joining the bank he worked at HSBC in New York and at Mashreq Bank in New York. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1989 and a master's degree in finance in 1990, both from the University of Iowa, and became a chartered financial analyst in 1993. He sits on the bank's executive committee and on the senior committees overseeing business management, clients, risk, people and culture, serves on several of its subsidiary boards in Europe and the Middle East, is vice chair of the advisory council of the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum and sits on the board of UK Finance.
