Gabriele Sabato

Gabriele Sabato is the co-founder, chief executive and a board member of Wiserfunding, a United Kingdom company specialising in credit risk assessment for small and medium-sized enterprises using modern analytical models. He holds a PhD in banking and finance from NYU Stern School of Business, with research focused on credit risk management. He began his career as an analyst at the Ministry of Economic Affairs between 1999 and 2000, then as a senior business analyst at Experian until 2004, served as vice president in group risk management at ABN AMRO between 2005 and 2008, as a senior manager at NatWest Group until 2011, as head of portfolio management for retail credit risk at Ulster Bank until 2013, and as head of risk appetite portfolio decisioning at NatWest until December 2017. In his public work he examines the impact of artificial intelligence on credit risk management.
