Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning

Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite has been Nigeria's Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning since March 2026. She is a politician, medical doctor and financial analyst. Born in October 1973 in Oguta, Imo State, she studied medicine at the University of Benin and qualified as a doctor in 1999, later earning the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Before her current post she was Minister of State for Finance from November 2024 and Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment between August 2023 and October 2024. Her current work focuses on the role of the private sector in Nigeria's path toward a one trillion dollar economy, arguing that around ninety-five per cent of the effort required must come from the private sector, and calling on states to take a more active leadership role.
