Claire Harrop

Claire Harrop is a partner at Freshfields and UK head of its fintech practice, advising on financial services regulation, artificial intelligence and private capital from London. She joined the firm in August 2010 and in 2013 co-founded its global fintech group, with particular expertise advising banks, financial market infrastructure, payment providers and private capital institutions. During her career she has been on secondment to Visa, the London Stock Exchange Group and Deutsche Bank, and she is one of the firm's global relationship partners for UBS and Visa. She studied physics as an undergraduate and follows fintech developments in payments, cryptoassets including central bank digital currencies, distributed ledger technology and artificial intelligence, writing on these subjects in the firm's specialist publications.
