Ben Charoenwong

Associate Professor of Finance

Ben Charoenwong is an associate professor of finance at INSEAD and an affiliated faculty member of the Asian Institute of Digital Finance and the NUS Fintech Lab. He joined INSEAD in 2024 after seven years as an assistant professor of finance at the National University of Singapore between 2017 and 2024. He is a co-founder of Chicago Global, a quantitative investment management firm, and previously worked at Citadel Securities and LEK Consulting. His research focuses on financial regulation, fintech and networks, and has been published in journals including the American Economic Review, the Journal of Financial Economics, Science Advances and the Review of Finance. It has been cited in policy reports by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, the French Council of Economic Analysis and the Japanese Cabinet Office, as well as in CFA Institute industry reports. He holds a PhD in finance and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor's degree in honours economics, honours statistics and financial mathematics with highest distinction from the University of Michigan.
