Financial Economist and AI Governance Expert

Amna Usman Chaudhry is a financial economist and expert in artificial intelligence governance and frontier technology, focusing on autonomous finance and the risks of agent-based AI systems. In May 2026 she published a paper titled Know Your Swarm, proposing a governance framework for multi-agent AI systems in autonomous finance and analysing how autonomous agents introduced real economic risk into decentralised finance, revealing systemic failure modes before comparable concerns surfaced in public-facing AI systems. She worked in blockchain, web3 and the metaverse early on and lectures on fintech, blockchain and Islamic finance to MBA students. She was named in the Women in Fintech Powerlist for 2022, won the Women in Tech organisation's Woman in Web3 award globally and in the Middle East and North Africa, and was listed among the Top 100 Women of the Future.
