Ahmad Yaacoub is vice president for the Middle East and North Africa at Thunes and its country head for Saudi Arabia, a role he has held since May 2022. Thunes is a global cross-border payments network connecting digital wallets, banks and money transfer providers, and under his leadership it launched real-time payments into the Kingdom and partnerships with local providers including barq for instant international remittances. Before joining Thunes he was head of business development for Saudi Arabia at Tiqmo between September 2020 and April 2022, developing its e-wallet marketplace, building strategic partnerships and managing the sales cycle and product vision, and earlier led business development at Soror and worked as a business development manager at Souq.com, an Amazon company. He holds a bachelor's degree in business and marketing from the American University of Science and Technology.
