Yasser Madkhali

Writer and Social Researcher

Yasser Madkhali is a Saudi writer and social researcher whose work addresses social structure in the Kingdom and its transformations, and the effect of policy and development programmes on individuals and communities. His writing reads social phenomena within their local context rather than importing ready-made explanations, with attention to fieldwork and to people's own voices. He publishes in the press and takes part in platforms discussing social change and questions of youth, family and identity.
