Walid A. Al-Naeem

Vice President and Chief Engineer

Walid A. Al-Naeem is Vice President and Chief Engineer at Saudi Aramco, where he previously directed the Process and Control Systems Department and served as senior project manager for the Crude to Chemicals project, project management officer, and superintendent of both downstream engineering and Riyadh refinery engineering. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Tulsa and a master's degree from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, and completed an executive program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He chairs the board of Plant.Digital, the joint venture Saudi Aramco formed with Honeywell in 2023 to develop digitalization and automation services, and sits on Aramco's Board of Engineers, its Specialist Development Program board, and its Innovation and Knowledge Management board, as well as on the board of the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center. In 2024 he chaired the Middle East Process Engineering Conference when Aramco hosted it in the Kingdom for the first time, describing its goal as strengthening intellectual leadership in process engineering locally and globally.
