Dr. Anđela Jakšić

Minister of Education, Science and Innovation

Dr. Andela Jaksic Stojanovic serves as Minister of Education, Science and Innovation in the Government of Montenegro, leading national policy across all stages of education, scientific research, and innovation. She oversees the implementation of the Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3), which sets the country's priorities for innovation and human-capital investment as part of Montenegro's path toward European Union membership. Before joining the cabinet, Jaksic Stojanovic served as Associate Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Culture and Tourism at the University of Donja Gorica, and as Director of the Vatel International Hotel Management School in Montenegro, a programme specialised in training cadres for the hospitality industry. She also spent ten years as Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at the University of Mediterranean. Among her most notable recent achievements as minister is the signing of a 2-million-euro grant agreement with the European Investment Bank to equip schools with digital tools and strengthen digital literacy among students and teachers. Jaksic Stojanovic holds a PhD in tourism and has produced extensive research in tourism management, marketing, and higher education, with publications in peer-reviewed academic journals. She is regarded as an active voice in shaping higher education and innovation across the Western Balkans. Her vision centres on building an education system that supports the retention of young talent within Montenegro and aligns educational outputs with the needs of a modern, knowledge-based economy.
