Director General of Intellectual Awareness

Dr Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Arifi is Director General of Intellectual Awareness at the Ministry of Education. The directorate builds awareness among students in general and university education and protects them from extremist ideas through programmes, curricula and extracurricular activity and the training of teachers and counsellors. He oversees preventive initiatives and the measurement of their impact, and coordination with security, social and media bodies on intellectual security. His interests lie in the school's role in shaping convictions and building national belonging.
