Abdullatif Al-Hemaid

Professor of Saudi History and Director of Dar Turath Al-Washm

Prof. Abdullatif Al-Humaid is Professor of Saudi History and Director of Dar Turath Al-Washm, an institution devoted to documenting the history of the Al-Washm region of Najd — gathering its documents, manuscripts and photographs and preserving its local narrative. It belongs to a class of private institutions filling a gap in regional documentation. His research covers the history of the Saudi state, Najdi society and its notable figures, and patterns of settlement and economic life, combining systematic academic research with fieldwork to collect sources from their holders before they are lost.
