Abdullah bin Humaid

Director, Intellectual Awareness Unit

Dr Abdullah bin Humaid is Director of the Intellectual Awareness Unit at the Council of University Affairs. The unit coordinates Saudi universities' efforts to root moderation and protect students from extremist discourse, through joint programmes, unified standards and the exchange of practice between intellectual awareness units across universities. He oversees these programmes and the measurement of their impact, with interests in the university as a space where convictions form and in dialogue as a means of engaging ideas rather than merely prohibiting them.
