Tarabut, a regulated financial infrastructure platform operating across Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, has secured $50 million (SAR 187 million) in strategic funding from a group of leading Saudi banks and family investment groups, the company announced on the sidelines of Money20/20 Middle East 2026, which runs from 14 to 16 September 2026 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Mulham, Riyadh.
The round brings together Riyadh Bank, the X-Tech fund managed by Al Awwal Investment, Gulf International Bank – Saudi Arabia, Zamil Group, and Kanoo Investment Projects Company, part of Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group, alongside other regional institutions. The funding is earmarked for the next phase of Tarabut's growth, with a sharper focus on the Saudi market, which the company describes as the region's largest financial market and the centerpiece of its embedded finance expansion plans.
Tarabut's regulated platform has processed more than five billion API requests across the region, connecting banks, distributors and customers through a unified infrastructure. The company plans to use the new capital to build integrated embedded finance solutions that combine customer data verification, demand assessment and timely access to funding within a single journey, delivered through the financial institution and under its own brand. These capabilities are particularly relevant to small and medium enterprise lending, where traditional credit models often rely on historical statements and documents that do not always reflect real-time cash flow, and where approval procedures can stretch for weeks even after eligibility requirements are met.
Abdullah Al Moayed, founder and CEO of Tarabut, said: «The institutions backing Tarabut are the same ones that rely on our infrastructure. This funding will allow us to build on what we have proven in the region and deepen our presence in our most important market: Saudi Arabia.» Abdulrahman Al Zamil, chairman of Zamil Investments, said: «Our participation in Tarabut's strategic funding reflects our confidence in its capabilities and its commitment to deepening its presence in the Kingdom.»
Tarabut said it will disclose further details of the next phase of its embedded finance platform in the coming months. The transaction remains subject to relevant regulatory approvals, including those of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
