Saudi Credit Bureau (SIMAH) has launched an upgraded generation of its 'Malam' platform for individuals on the sidelines of Money20/20 Middle East 2026 in Riyadh, shifting the platform's purpose from simply displaying credit information to helping users interpret it, engage with it, and make more informed financial choices.
The redesigned experience consolidates an individual's credit obligations in a single dashboard, including commitments tied to buy-now-pay-later services, so that users can read their financial and credit position as one connected picture rather than as scattered pieces of data. A credit score simulator sits at the centre of the new offering, allowing users to input variables linked to their obligations and credit products and explore how those choices might reflect on their credit assessment before they commit to them.
Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Qudairi, CEO of SIMAH, said the release marks an evolution in how consumer-facing credit solutions are conceived. «Our goal is not limited to making credit information available, but extends to enabling the beneficiary to understand it in a way that helps them make a decision,» he said, adding that the new experience was built to bring data closer to the user and give individuals tools to explore the impact of their financial options.
Al-Qudairi noted that strengthening credit awareness begins with turning information into knowledge, and knowledge into the ability to plan and decide, stressing that SIMAH will continue developing Malam as a consumer empowerment tool. The upgrade reflects a broader shift in the role of individual credit solutions, from delivering information to enabling users to understand it, interact with it, and anticipate the consequences of a decision, which the bureau says supports transparency and more sustainable financial behaviour.
