Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Al-Swaha revealed during the activities of LEAP 2026 that the artificial intelligence company xAI has chosen the Kingdom to establish its first data center outside the United States, a step that reflects the growing global confidence in Saudi Arabia's digital infrastructure and its advanced capabilities in hosting major technology projects.
Al-Swaha explained that this data center will be equipped with 3,000 servers designated for export, which contributes to strengthening the Kingdom's position as a regional and international hub for data and artificial intelligence technologies, in line with the goals of Vision 2030 that seek to diversify the economy and build a sustainable digital future.
This announcement came during the fifth edition of LEAP, which is being held at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, where the event witnesses broad participation from major international technology companies and investors, as the conference represents a prominent platform for announcing strategic projects that accelerate digital transformation in the region.
