Money20/20 Middle East Kicks Off Tomorrow in Riyadh Under Finance Minister's Patronage

The second edition of Money20/20 Middle East 2026 opens tomorrow in Riyadh under the patronage of Finance Minister Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, who also chairs the Financial Sector Development Program Committee, with the event running until September 16 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Mulham.

Al-Jadaan is set to deliver the opening keynote on steering the next chapter of economic transformation, while the conference is hosted by the Financial Sector Development Program, the Saudi Central Bank, the Capital Market Authority, and the Insurance Authority, and jointly organized by the Saudi Fintech Initiative and Tahaluf. The gathering brings together global financial leaders, institutions, and decision-makers to shape the next phase of financial services across the Kingdom and the region, examining how technology and innovation are reshaping financial infrastructure, payments, capital, and funding models.

The 2026 edition is expected to draw more than 38,000 participants, alongside 350 exhibiting brands, over 350 speakers, more than 600 investors, and 150 startups. The program focuses on key shifts redefining the sector, including smart finance, open banking, embedded finance, payments, regulatory frameworks, access to capital, and cross-border financial infrastructure, with discussions spanning the Executive Summit stage, the Next Gen Money stage, the Bridge stage, the Capital stage, a meeting hall, and closed sessions.

Within the Next Gen Money program, Godfrey Sullivan of Visa will lead a live demonstration titled "Building Trust in the Age of Agentic Commerce," exploring how AI agents can complete transactions on behalf of customers, from merchant selection through payment and authentication, while addressing refunds, disputes, and liability. The agenda also covers AI agent governance, the future of cross-border payment corridors, the role of regulatory frameworks in supporting innovation, and the factors driving long-term global capital attraction.
