The second day of LEAP 2026 in Riyadh unveiled investments and launches totaling nearly $2.5 billion, focusing on data centers, cloud services, and advanced technology localization. The announcements underscore Saudi Arabia's growing role as a global hub for digital infrastructure.
Leading the day's declarations, MIS (Al Moammar Information Systems) committed $1.2 billion to expand data centers within the Kingdom, aiming to boost operational capacity to 192 megawatts to meet rising demand for computing and AI services. NHC Innovation announced a $880 million investment to develop data centers in Wadi Khuzam Digital Valley, targeting 65 megawatts by 2033.
On the international front, Vision Invest and Africa Finance Corporation are leading a $300 million strategic investment in WIOCC to enhance digital infrastructure and connectivity across Africa. In cloud services, Mobily and BytePlus announced a joint investment exceeding $150 million to launch BytePlus cloud services in Saudi Arabia.
Supporting local technology development, HPE expanded its 'Made in Saudi' program to include integrated tech solutions, and launched the Saudi Innovation Center with Intel to empower startups and national talent in AI. Nokia also announced the opening of its first R&D center in the Kingdom, focusing on AI-driven network automation.
LEAP 2026 continues until September 3 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, bringing together tech leaders, investors, and innovators from around the world.
