King Saud University Medical City (KSUMC) participated in LEAP 2026, represented by its Executive Administration of IT and Digital Transformation, to showcase its digital health initiatives and support innovation in the healthcare sector.
During the event, KSUMC launched its Digital Health Innovation Ecosystem and announced registration for Healthathon 2026, the second edition of its digital health hackathon, scheduled to take place from October 1 to 4, 2026, at King Saud University. The hackathon targets innovators, developers, researchers, healthcare practitioners, and entrepreneurs to develop innovative, applicable technological solutions in real healthcare settings.
Eng. Mubarak bin Mar'i Al-Shahrani, Executive Director of IT and Digital Transformation at KSUMC, stated that the participation reflects the city's commitment to supporting innovation and adopting modern digital solutions. He emphasized that building an integrated health innovation ecosystem requires integrating health, technical, and academic expertise to turn ideas into practical solutions with tangible impact.
Healthathon 2026 features four main tracks: Digital Patient Experience, Proactive Healthcare, Health Insurance Technologies, and Women's Digital Health, aiming to encourage participants to develop digital solutions addressing real challenges in the health sector.
These initiatives align with KSUMC's efforts to foster a culture of innovation in healthcare and leverage AI and digital transformation to develop new healthcare models, supporting Saudi Vision 2030 objectives in digital transformation and building a knowledge-based economy.
