Visitors to the Security and History Dialogue 2026 are being drawn to rare historical photographs and artifacts displayed across government pavilions, offering a visual journey through Saudi Arabia's transformation since the era of King Abdulaziz Al Saud. The Ministry of Defense pavilion features over 20 rare images chronicling the evolution of the Saudi army, including a display of M8 armored vehicles from the armored corps established in 1353 AH, alongside a photograph of the Riyadh patrol boat, recognized as the first Saudi naval combat vessel launched on 23 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1379 AH.
The National Guard Ministry pavilion captures attention with antique rifles predating the kingdom's founding, such as the Al-Sama'a rifle manufactured in 1899, the long Mauser rifle bearing the emblem of the King of Hejaz and Nejd from 1936, and other firearms like Al-Fateel, Umm Sak, Umm Talqa, Umm Sanduq, and Al-Nims, as well as swords dating back over 300 years. Meanwhile, the King Fahd National Library pavilion showcases rare photographs of a young King Abdulaziz, images of Riyadh and Diriyah, ancient manuscripts with inscriptions by royal family members reflecting their dedication to knowledge, and historical stamps from the unification period.
The Royal Commission for Riyadh City presents albums of rare photographs depicting the capital's landmarks, including Al-Thumairi Gate, the southern gate, Al-Batha Road, Al-Safah, mosques in Dukhna, the antique market, the Grand Mosque, and an aerial view of the Al-Murabba neighborhood, illustrating the city's deep-rooted historical progression. The conference, running until September 8, 2026, features over 65 dialogue sessions and interactive meetings with more than 160 speakers, alongside an accompanying exhibition and cultural experiences.
