Professor of Marine Engineering

Waheed AbuShanab is Professor of Marine Engineering at the Faculty of Maritime Studies, King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah. His academic work covers ship engineering systems and marine technical education, training the marine engineers who go on to serve on commercial fleets and in the ports and shipyards of Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf. He contributes an engineering and technical safety perspective to industry discussions on the security and resilience of maritime infrastructure, complementing the operational and policy perspectives of government and industry speakers on the same panels.
