Vivek Vijay

Certification Specialist

Vivek Vijay is a Certification Specialist at Emirates Safety Laboratory (ESL), a third-party conformity assessment body based in Dubai that certifies fire protection products and systems. He leads ESL's customised evaluation programmes for water mist fire suppression systems, assessing individual components, component assemblies and complete systems against the FM 5560 standard and local regulations, and carrying out fire test protocols alongside peer reviews of manufacturers' design, installation, operation and maintenance manuals. His work helps manufacturers secure independent certificates of conformity that support market access across new geographies, and he has written on the limits of guideline standards such as NFPA 750 in the absence of definitive third-party fire performance testing.
