Clinical Specialist - Senior Physical Therapist

Thamer Alshammary practises rehabilitation medicine as a clinical specialist and senior physical therapist at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, the flagship hospital complex of the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs. The role combines direct patient rehabilitation with clinical supervision and practice development. The National Guard health system runs hospitals in Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Ahsa, Dammam and Madinah, serves National Guard personnel and their families alongside referred cases from across the kingdom, and includes King Abdullah Specialized Children's Hospital as well as the teaching and research arms that share its campus, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and King Abdullah International Medical Research Centre. The rehabilitation service he works in was awarded three-year accreditation by CARF International in 2025 across four programmes: adult inpatient rehabilitation, inpatient rehabilitation with a stroke specialty, and interdisciplinary outpatient medical rehabilitation for adults and for children and adolescents.
