Steven Wanyee
President
Steven Wanyee Macharia is a biomedical and health informatics professional with more than 25 years of practice in digital health across Africa. He founded IntelliSOFT Consulting in Nairobi in 2007 and leads its health sector work, from the design of digital health solutions through implementation, support and maintenance. Through the company he has directed more than 20 projects in over 15 African countries, and he has advised more than 20 ministries of health on digital health policies, strategies, standards and implementation guidance. He is a founder and secretary general of the Kenya Health Informatics Association, deputy chairperson of the Africa Digital Health Networks, and a community representative on the OpenMRS board. His training covers software engineering and biomedical informatics, with HL7 certification, and he is completing doctoral study in health informatics on clinical decision support and the implementation of WHO SMART guidelines. He works with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the World Bank, USAID and Africa CDC, including on WHO's digital adaptation kit for infectious disease surveillance.
