Dr Reem Taibah

Business Development Director

Dr Reem Taibah is a Saudi physicist specialising in experimental particle physics who now works on the commercial development of quantum technologies in the Kingdom. She earned her doctorate in physics after studying in France, and carried out research at the Laboratoire de Physique Nucleaire et de Hautes Energies in Paris and at the Max Planck Institute in Munich. Her work at CERN focused on developing detectors for the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, where she achieved qualified ATLAS author status, and her published research covers TCAD simulation and testbeam characterisation of pixel sensors for the ATLAS inner tracker upgrade, including charge-collection and hit-efficiency measurements at CERN-SPS and DESY. She subsequently moved into management consulting at McKinsey & Company, working as an analyst on the sustainability of energy projects. She has since become active in Saudi Arabia's quantum ecosystem, delivering a guest lecture series to students in the quantum computing programme at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals on translating quantum technology into economically meaningful opportunities, covering policy, risk and the national quantum landscape. She speaks Arabic, English, French, German and Chinese, and appears regularly on science and women-in-science platforms in the Kingdom.
