Her Royal Highness Princess Lamia bint Majid Al Saud serves as the Secretary-General of Alwaleed Philanthropies and the CEO of Rotana Media Group. She leads the philanthropic foundation, which has expanded its humanitarian efforts to cover more than 164 countries, focusing on poverty alleviation, relief, education, women's empowerment, and interfaith dialogue. She is the granddaughter of King Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. She graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations and Marketing from the International University of Egypt in Cairo. In 2003, she founded Sada Al Arab Publishing House, which released three magazines, and published her first novel in 2010, addressing women's rights in the Middle East. She joined Alwaleed Philanthropies as Executive Director of Media and Communications before being appointed Secretary-General in 2016. She inaugurated the new Islamic Art wing at the Louvre Museum in 2019. She was appointed the first Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in the Arab region in 2020, and was reappointed for a third term. She received an honorary doctorate from the University for the Creative Arts in London in recognition of her achievements in philanthropy. She is known for her efforts in transforming philanthropy into a sustainable institutional approach that combines media and human development. She focuses on empowering women and youth in the Arab region and was appointed a champion for UNICEF's Generation Unlimited initiative to support youth globally. She will participate in LEAP 2026 to present her vision on the role of technology in enhancing humanitarian work and sustainable development, in line with the Kingdom's commitment to global social responsibility under Vision 2030.
