Othman Mahmoud Al-Sini
Editor-in-Chief of Al-Watan
Dr Othman Mahmoud Hussein Al-Sini, born in 1955, is a Saudi linguistic researcher and journalist and editor-in-chief of Al-Watan. He previously edited the newspaper Makkah (2013–2014), served as editor-in-chief and executive director of Al-Majalla Al-Arabiya (2007–2013), was acting editor-in-chief of Al-Watan (2005–2007) and its deputy editor from 1999. He has advised the Saudi Journalists Association since 2006 and the Ministry of Media since 2007, and was named secretary-general of the Saudi Media Award 2026. He chairs the Intangible Heritage Association. His family traces its origins to north-western China and migrated to the Hijaz some eighty years ago.
