Lead Inspection Engineer
Omar Al-Lafi is a Lead Inspection Engineer with over 20 years of industrial experience across the oil, gas, chemical and petrochemical industries. His specialisation covers ASME B31 piping and pipeline design, construction, operation, inspection, pigging, maintenance, repair and integrity assessment, along with process equipment, reliability management, plant turnarounds, reliability-availability-maintainability analysis, engineering drawings, codes and standards, and the reading, interpretation and development of piping and instrumentation diagrams. His experience covers inspection, construction and maintenance of storage tanks, hydraulic control valves and static equipment including safety relief valves, boilers, fired heaters, reformers, pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers and pipelines, as well as corrosion engineering, repair of conventional and special alloy grades, welding and non-destructive testing. He has held positions as lead engineer, senior inspection engineer, welding engineer and NDT engineer with companies including Ma'aden, Saudi Aramco, SABIC and Jordan Bromine. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and is certified as an AWS Certified Welding Inspector and in API 570, API 510, API 577 and API 571, and has delivered numerous training courses, seminars and workshops across the Middle East.
