Nassib Nasr is director general of Hotel-Dieu de France, the university hospital of Saint Joseph University in Beirut, and of the USJ-HDF Hospital Network built around it. Launched in 2022, the network joins Hotel-Dieu de France with Saint-Charles Hospital in Fayadieh-Baabda, Monseigneur Cortbawi Hospital in Adma, Tel Chiha Hospital in Zahle and, since 2023, Notre Dame de la Paix Hospital in Kobayat in Akkar: more than 900 beds, 27 operating theatres, over 700 physicians and some 2,000 staff, pooling clinical, technical and financial resources and coordinating patient pathways for specialised and urgent care. Hotel-Dieu de France cared for more than 800 people injured in the Beirut port explosion of 4 August 2020 while sustaining damage itself, and on 5 May 2021 Nasr opened the hospital's centenary programme. He has led the institution through Lebanon's financial collapse, arguing publicly for keeping care accessible, and has signed agreements extending its reach, among them a robotic surgery partnership with Levant Clinic and a cooperation accord with Jezzine Government Hospital.
