Dr Layla Nizamuddin is an advisor at the General Department of Family Committees within the Family Affairs Council, the body responsible for family policy in the Kingdom, protecting members' rights and following up empowerment programmes. The department coordinates the committees' work across the Kingdom's regions and follows up cases and preventive programmes. Her expertise lies in family policy and social research relating to children, women and older people, and in connecting academic research with institutional intervention on family matters.
