Fikri Başar Yalçıner

Principal Structural Integrity Engineer

Fikri Başar Yalçıner is Principal Structural Integrity Engineer for oil and gas and offshore assets at NMDC Energy in Abu Dhabi, with 25 years of experience designing oil and gas, offshore and ship structures. He specialises in advanced finite element analysis, fitness-for-service assessment, and the fracture and fatigue integrity of welded structures. He is a member of the API 579-1/ASME FFS-1 technical committee and of International Institute of Welding Commissions X and XIII, lectures part-time at Istanbul Gedik University, and is a guest lecturer at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Khalifa University. He is currently completing his doctoral studies.
