Dr. Reem Al Shammari

Reem Faraj Al-Shammari is a Kuwaiti cybersecurity leader, known for heading information security at Kuwait Oil Company as the first woman to hold the role in Kuwait's oil sector, where she worked to raise the maturity of cybersecurity across the energy sector in ways tied to Kuwait's national cyber readiness. She is a co-founder and board member of Women in Cyber Security Middle East, a network of around 900 members across the region, and a member of the World Economic Forum's Cyber Resilience in Oil and Gas programme. She was ranked first among IFSEC Global's Top Influencers in Security and Fire in 2019 and named Arab CISO of the Year in the same year. Her background combines an engineering degree, an MBA and a doctorate, alongside an executive programme at Harvard Business School.
