Director, Asir Region History Centre

Dr Ali Al-Qutub is Director of the Asir Region History Centre, the body responsible for documenting the history of this south-western region and gathering its documents, oral accounts and photographs. The centre researches the history of Asir, its tribes, traditional architecture and arts — among them Al-Qatt Al-Asiri, inscribed on the UNESCO intangible heritage list. He oversees its research projects, publications and partnerships, with interests in connecting local history to the national narrative and in serving the region's cultural and tourism sector.
