Ahmed Ezzeldin Mahmoud Abdelaal

Group Chief Executive Officer

Ahmed Ezzeldin has been group chief executive of Cleopatra Hospitals Group, Egypt's largest private hospital operator, since 2015, and sits on its board. Listed on the Egyptian Exchange in 2016, the group runs hospitals across Greater Cairo including Cairo Specialized Hospital, Cleopatra Hospital, Cleopatra Tagmoa, Cleopatra October, AlShrouk Hospital, Nile Badrawy Hospital and El Katib Hospital, alongside two polyclinics and one of Egypt's largest IVF centres, and has organised its care into nine centres of excellence: cardiovascular, oncology, orthopaedics, neurology, nephrology, urology, robotic and advanced surgery, minimally invasive spine surgery and dentistry. Under his tenure the group has more than doubled its capacity and footprint, to roughly 800 beds across ten facilities. Before moving into hospital management he spent 18 years with Merck Sharp & Dohme and then worked at Johnson & Johnson, where he oversaw government affairs and policy for the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan. He has appeared repeatedly on Forbes Middle East's healthcare leaders lists, in 2022, 2023 and 2025.
