Dr Ahmed Al-Qatatsheh

Lead, IBM Quantum

Dr Ahmed Al-Qatatsheh is Lead for IBM Quantum across the Middle East and Africa at IBM Research, where he oversees quantum business, quantum strategy formulation and quantum computing research collaboration. He holds the designations of IBM Quantum Senior Ambassador and IBM Qiskit Advocate. He completed his PhD at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne and remains affiliated with its Department of Engineering and Product Design, alongside an affiliation with Khalifa University in the United Arab Emirates. His research spans quantum computing, nanotechnology, computational modelling, smart materials and Industry 4.0, and his most-cited work includes an overview of emerging hybrid and composite materials for space applications published in 2023 and a 2020 review of blood pressure sensors covering materials, fabrication methods and performance evaluation. Before joining IBM he held leadership roles at international companies in the automotive, electric vehicle and consulting sectors, and he has collaborated with the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation, CSIRO and the Innovative Manufacturing Cooperative Research Centre.
