Saudi Heart Association

The Saudi Heart Association serves as the national reference body for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease in Saudi Arabia, setting scientific standards, providing consultation, and conducting applied studies that represent the interests of cardiology at the local and international levels. The association brings together more than ten specialised cardiac working groups active throughout the year across different areas of cardiovascular care, and it has overseen the Saudi National Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Committee since 1984, working to spread resuscitation science across the Kingdom. It publishes its own indexed scientific journal alongside periodic bulletins presenting cardiovascular research findings, and it holds an annual scientific conference regarded as one of the leading cardiology gatherings in the Middle East, in addition to community cardiac awareness programmes such as World Heart Day activities. The association is led by an elected nine-member board of directors serving a three-year term, currently chaired by Prof. Waleed AlHabeeb.
