
General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT)
<p>The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) is a Saudi government entity with an independent legal personality and the Kingdom's sole official reference for producing, supervising and regulating statistical work. It publishes official statistics across economic, social, environmental and spatial domains to support policymakers and decision-makers in delivering national development plans and Saudi Vision 2030. Its board is chaired by the Minister of Economy and Planning.</p><p>GASTAT's regular products span national accounts, price indices, labour market, international trade, population, health, education, energy and environment statistics, and it delivered the Saudi Census 2022. Its stated vision is to become one of the leading modern statistical institutes worldwide, built on the values of integration, excellence, empowerment and transparency.</p><p>Internationally, GASTAT represents the Kingdom before the United Nations Statistics Division and regional statistical bodies, hosts the Sixth United Nations World Data Forum 2026 in Riyadh, and launched the "Road to Riyadh" initiative in preparation for it. It also convenes the Saudi Statistics Forum as an annual platform; the first edition was held in April 2025.</p>
