On the fifth day of the Crown Prince Camel Festival 2026, Saudi participants swept the top honors in the newly introduced 'Mazayen' beauty contests, while the day's racing heats saw Emirati and Omani camels dominate with six wins, according to the organizing committee.
The festival, now in its eighth edition and running until September 13 under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, features total prize money exceeding 50 million riyals. In the second day of the 'Laqaya' category races, the Emirati-owned camel 'Sham'a' claimed the main heat title and best time, covering 4 kilometers in 6:05.114 minutes at an average speed of 39.440 km/h.
In the 'Mazayen' competitions, which are being held for the first time in the festival's history, Saudi participants Abdullah Qash'an, Mohammed bin Khazam, Majed al-Otaibi, Ayed bin Raf'an, and Fahad al-Saadi each won first place and the festival cup in their respective individual heats for colors including red, shaqh, and white.
The addition of 'Mazayen' was made in collaboration with the Camel Club and spans three main days dedicated to the 'Mufarid' category, aiming to meet owners' aspirations and develop camel sports into an integrated sporting and economic industry aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
