On the second day of the Crown Prince Camel Festival 2026, held at the historic Taif camel track, Saudi-owned camels dominated the morning session by securing first place in 13 out of 21 heats, while Qatari and Emirati camels claimed five and three wins respectively, according to the organizing committee's statistics.
The standout performance came from the camel 'Lahab', owned by Saudi national Mohammed Al-Fuhaida, which won the third heat in the 'Haqa'iq' category with the fastest time of the morning at 2:56.781 minutes, achieving a winning speed of 40.728 km/h. The overall average time for the morning heats was 2:59.257 minutes, reflecting the high technical readiness of the participating camels.
In the 'Mazayen' beauty competitions, the organizing committee announced results for the 'Fardi Mafarid' heats. Abdullah Al-Qahtani took first place in the 'Qa'adan – Sh'al color' heat with 'Ramh Al-Sh'al', followed by Fahd Al-Otaibi with 'Mawqif Muraifat' in second and Ali Al-Dosari with 'Sarb' in third. In the 'Qa'adan – Wadha color' heat, Flah Al-Shahrani won with 'Mahzam Tayi', while Fahd Al-Arjani secured second place with 'I'asar Ghazayer Yam'.
Further results included Fahd Al-Arjani's victory in the 'Bakar – Safar color' heat with 'Saytara Ghazayer Yam', ahead of Khaled Al-Mutairi with 'Aqfat Bilshawt' and Aqab Al-Mutairi with 'Laghm Al-Safar'. In the 'Qa'adan – Safar color' heat, Muqrin Al-Otaibi triumphed with 'Inzar', followed by Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi with 'Mthal' and Majed Othman Abdullah Al-Mutairi in third. The final heat, 'Fardi Bakar – Sh'al color', was won by Nawaf bin Jkhdham with 'Al-Sarameh Imarat Al-Sh'al', ahead of Jafran bin Hadhban with 'Tahdhar bin Hadhban' and Bayahi Al-Ajmi.
The festival, organized by the Saudi Camel Federation and running until September 13, features total prize money exceeding 50 million riyals, making it a premier event in the sport of camel racing.
