The Saudi Camel Federation has opened registration for the camel racing events at the Crown Prince Camel Festival 2026, with field competitions scheduled to begin on September 3 at the historic Taif track. This marks the eighth edition of the festival.
Registration for both men's and women's categories started Wednesday and will continue until next Tuesday at 6:00 PM, with applications accepted via a dedicated QR code for the marathon. The federation outlined that the races include four main rounds: two for men ("Hail w Thanaya Bkar" and "Zamoul w Thanaya Gadan") and two for women's camel racing.
The organizing committee has allocated total prize money of SAR 620,000, distributed equally at SAR 155,000 per round. The first-place winner in each round receives SAR 50,000, with prizes descending to SAR 5,000 for the tenth place.
Participants must meet several conditions, including being at least 18 years old (Gregorian calendar) and submitting official documents: national ID, camel rider card, bank IBAN matching the participant's name, and blood type. Additionally, full details of the camel, owner, and electronic chip number must be provided, along with an electronic declaration of data accuracy to avoid disqualification and legal accountability.
