The sixth edition of the Future Minerals Forum will be held in Riyadh from January 12 to 14, 2027, under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources organizing the gathering under the theme «Global Cooperation for Resilient Mineral Supply Chains», according to a statement carried by Al-Watan newspaper.
The upcoming edition builds on five previous rounds that produced 398 agreements and memoranda of understanding worth more than SAR 282 billion combined, including 132 deals valued at SAR 100 billion during the 2026 edition alone, which drew delegations from 175 countries. The sixth edition shifts the focus from consensus-building toward mobilizing financing and technology, executing projects, and converting shared priorities into investment opportunities that expand mineral supplies and develop value chains across the super region stretching from Africa to West and Central Asia and Latin America.
At the center of the agenda sits the international ministerial meeting, which brings together high-level participants to align priorities and chart work paths, alongside a dedicated «Access to Finance» track connecting investors with quality projects, «State of the Sector» sessions examining strategic outlooks for global commodity markets, and specialized leadership meetings on supply resilience.
The forum coincides with a leap in mining exploration activity in the Kingdom, where spending doubled to reach SAR 1.36 billion in 2025 and the number of active exploration companies rose to 191. Those efforts are crowned by exploration results at the Jabal Sa'id project in Madinah, which revealed estimated resources of about 114 million tonnes of ore containing high concentrations of rare earth elements and uranium.
