Crown Prince Camel Festival 2026: Al-Jidhaa Category Races to Begin Tomorrow

The Crown Prince Camel Festival 2026 in Taif will see the launch of the Al-Jidhaa category races tomorrow, Wednesday, marking the third approved camel racing category by the Saudi Camel Racing Federation, following the conclusion of the Al-Haqa'iq and Al-Luqaya categories, as announced by the organizing committee.

The committee has allocated 38 races for this category, spread across Wednesday and Thursday, with total prize money of SAR 6.98 million, attracting wide participation from camel owners across Saudi Arabia and GCC countries, according to the festival's organizers.

The first day's morning session will feature 15 general races (Bakar and Qa'adan), each offering SAR 90,000 in prizes distributed among the top ten finishers, bringing the total morning prizes to SAR 1.35 million, while the camels will cover a total distance of 75 kilometers across the 15 races, with each race spanning 5 kilometers.

Given the typical pace for Al-Jidhaa camels at the Taif track, each race is expected to be completed in approximately 7 to 8 minutes, as the festival continues to showcase the region's rich camel heritage through competitive racing at the Crown Prince Camel Festival 2026.
