The General Directorate of Border Guard is showcasing a portable thermal surveillance system at the Ministry of Interior pavilion of the International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition 2026, where the device is presented as part of the directorate's operational toolkit for protecting the Kingdom's frontiers, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The system relies on infrared imaging to detect targets across open terrain, while an integrated laser rangefinder pinpoints their coordinates, allowing border units to monitor and intercept violators of the Border Security Law and smugglers operating in rugged areas, a capability that strengthens surveillance coverage in zones where conventional monitoring is difficult to sustain.
Its placement inside the Interior Ministry's pavilion places the technology alongside other security displays at the exhibition, which runs through October 10 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Mulham, giving visitors a direct look at the equipment used along the Kingdom's land and coastal borders.
